Scouting for Food

Posted on Jan 9 2012 - 5:16pm

Scouting for Food (SFF) is a twenty-five year old annual service project rooted in the very foundation of the Scouting movement. It draws on several aspects of Scouting: Scout Oath (help other people at all times), Scout Law (helpful), and Scout Slogan (do a good turn daily).

Scouting for Food is at the core of what it means to be a Scout.

First, a big THANK YOU! to all those units that participated in the last two years. However, the NA District is one of the largest in the Council and yet we have been at the bottom of participation/production per scout for both years.

Please hear the call for support this year. Let’s have the NA District lead the way by significantly increasing our participation from previous years.  As the Girl Scouts are known for their cookie sale, the Boy Scouts want to be known for our food collection.  Please click here to register your unit today, Thank you.

For more information on Scouting for Food (SFF) from the Council please click here.

BSA Centennial Collector's Patches

Posted on Oct 28 2011 - 12:19pm

Dear Scout Volunteers:

We have a lot to be proud of here in the Atlanta Area Council, especially the hard work of our volunteers and the generosity of our families. 2011 has been a very successful year so far, but we need your help to close out the year strong.

The Atlanta Area Council has successfully raised 99% of our Friends of Scouting goal of $2,350,000. With just 1% to go, we need your help! If you haven't made a pledge for 2011 or would like to make an additional pledge for the year, please contact Justin Thomas at 770-956-3179.

In appreciation for your help, the Council has a limited number of red BSA Centennial Council Shoulder Patches for those who pledge an additional $100 and a framed collection of limited Council Shoulder Patches and commemorative coins as seen in the attachment for those who pledge an additional $1,000. Thank you for your consideration andhelp in raising the final 1% to close out 2011 strong!
